My name is jenn, and I never thought I’d find myself in this situation — but life changed quickly. I was diagnosed with severe bone-on-bone arthritis, and it has progressed so fast that I am now fully dependent on a wheelchair. Even moving from my bed to the chair is a painful challenge.
Before my condition worsened, I worked hard to support my family. My doctors advised me to try every possible treatment before undergoing a double hip replacement, because of my age. Unfortunately, the treatments I could afford didn’t last. The cortisone shot helped for a short time, but soon I was right back where I started — in constant pain.
Now, I’m separated from my husband, who refuses to help, and I live with my children. I have no income and no transportation, and my disability application is still stuck in the review process. My state insurance has also been “processing” for months, leaving me unable to access the care I truly need.
I’ve applied for every assistance program I qualify for, but everything takes time. In the meantime, we are struggling just to cover basic needs — especially food.
Despite my pain, I’ve been trying to find work-from-home opportunities, but I’ve been scammed more than once. Still, I haven’t lost hope. I’m willing to work, I just need a chance to get back on my feet.
If anyone can help with food, groceries, or even a small donation, it would make a world of difference. Every bit helps us survive another day and keeps hope alive for my children and me.
Thank you for reading my story and taking the time to care. I promise that one day, when things get better, I will pay it forward to someone else in need.
