Thirty children who lost their parents during the COVID outbreak now share a single tin roof in the small Bihar town of Gaya. The majority range in age from 4 to 14. They hardly have enough food, no restrooms, and no decent mattresses. A helpful villager has temporarily granted them a dilapidated cowshed as their "shelter."
They have been taken in by Manju Didi, a local teacher, who prepares what little she can each day. Losing both parents, asking for food, and sleeping on freezing floors during storms are all experiences that these kids shouldn't have to endure.
Our goal is to provide a permanent residence for them, a secure area where they can:
We want to build them a permanent home — a safe space where they can:
-
-
- Have access to clean water and toilets
-
- Receive education, care, and regular meals
- We are collecting ten lakh rupees to:
Construct two dorm rooms with fans and beds.
Construct a kitchen and some rudimentary restrooms.
For six months, supply food, literature, and uniforms.
These kids deserve a chance, not our sympathy. An opportunity to live fearlessly, learn, and play.
🏠 We can create a real home for them with your help. Help us restore their childhood, please.
