Unprecedented rainfall along the Hudson River in June 2025 displaced around 200 residents due to floods in six towns: Kingston, Poughkeepsie, and Beacon. Childhood memories, personal belongings, appliances, and basement furnaces were gone. It's lost stability, not just water damage. Restoring safety is the goal of the flood relief fundraiser for the Hudson Valley.
Plan of Execution:
Together with neighbourhood volunteer brigades and the Hudson Valley Community Foundation, we'll:
1)Give out food, clothing, and shelter vouchers right away.
2)Give 150 homes cleaning supplies (mops and disinfectants).
3)Provide rebuilding grants for structural, insulation, and flooring repairs.
4)Start community reconstruction days with knowledgeable volunteers.
Funding Goals:
a)$100 provides emergency shelter for one night
b)$250 funds for professional cleanup
c)$1,000 covers basic home repairs
d)$5,000 supports rebuilding and community outreach
