23-year-old Shalini, a bright and driven college student from Lucknow, was struck by a speeding truck while she was en route to turn in her senior project. She suffered significant brain injuries in the collision and is presently in the intensive care unit in a coma.
According to doctors, she urgently needs a decompressive craniectomy, a risky brain operation that could save her life by reducing the swelling. ICU stay, ventilator support, surgery, and post-operative care are all included in the ₹6.5 lakh total cost.
Her mother, a housewife, and her father, an autorickshaw driver, are distraught and powerless. They had already spent all of their savings on scans and emergency care.
Time is of the essence. Every hour matters. The chance of irreversible brain damage, or worse, increases with the length of time the surgery is postponed.
Shalini went to college first in her family. She wanted to assist her younger siblings' education by becoming a teacher.
Those dreams don't have to end with your assistance.
🙏 Your contribution can save Shalini’s life. Help her come back to the world she was just about to step into.
