Amina experienced a difficult upbringing. She helped her mother sell vegetables to make ends meet while she lived on the outskirts of Nairobi. School seemed like a far-off dream. Amina's will to learn remained unwavering in the face of these obstacles. She continued to believe in education, studied by candlelight, and borrowed books.

With the help of fundraisers  like you, Amina was awarded a full scholarship that paid for her daily food, books, and tuition. She is currently an Environmental Science major at a university and is already involved in neighbourhood initiatives to fight food insecurity.
